The Call of Cthulhu

Interested in weird non-euclidean angles, ancient horrors and tough Scandinavian sailors but haven't read The Call of Cthulhu yet? Tsk, tsk. It's one of H.P. Lovecraft's most popular -and some might say better- short stories you know. Anyway. It's never too late. (Artwork stolen from here)

By the way, gnome, ever played The Call of Cthulhu? I hear is a great (though very hard) game. I'll definitely gonna play it when I get myself an Xbox (I know it's also available for PC, but I prefer the console version).

  2. This reminds me of the Metallica song, 'The Call Of Ktulu'.

  4. Wow strange that I should be awoken from my blogging slumber by the call of Cthulhu...

Hello Gnome how the devil are you?

Seems like years since I've been here... Or anywhere for that matter...

  6. The Call of Cthulhu...that sounds so strange...anyway I haven't read the book, but I tried playing the game and I couldn't even get passed that creepy mansion...I have a problem with horror games...just can't seem to get over my fears

  7. Hehe, nice pick, expensive toys there Nebacha. As for the Call of Cthulhu, well I started it and it was very atmospheric and quite a bit like an FPSy adventure, but the lack of a proper save feature was crippling. Still, great game and one I'll be coming back to.

Ross, that definitely isn't a coincidence you know....

Better than pretty good joe. Give it a try.

Ah, but you're a fierce console gamer then dear Mr. Elderly. I'm afraid I'm too quick-save reliant to endure save-points meself.

Spooky, happily there's no book. Just follow the link and read the whole short-story trilogy. It's bloody briliant, it is. Oh, and don't be afraid. Please?

  8. Father, Cthulhu was a bit expensive, but thankfully he did his bit competently. Welcome, back my friend. Oh, I'm fine. Fine.

  9. spooky i've still got project Zero and for the life of me i'm too afraid to finish it....

like yourself Gnome.. quick save keeps the original from becoming banal... hate trapsing back over old ground....

  10. Right! But, is this Project Zero beastie you're speaking of?

  12. (talks vaguely to the direction of the couch and hopefully to the general direction of Elderly's hiding place)

Think I got the idea. Really. Thanks. Feel free to elaborate any time.
