The Journey Down Giveaway

Journey Down HD by the brilliantly named SkyGoblin is a stunning game to look at. Simply stunning. Happily, it also is a properly funny and, quite frankly, great adventure game I should have already reviewed ages ago, but, well, that bundle is an incredibly time-consuming beast. Anyway. Take my word for it: if you ever loved adventure games you'll adore the Journey Down.

You can handily grab it via a healthy selection of online download shop-thingies (including Desura) and you can also try and win one of the five copies SkyGoblin is graciously giving away for Gnome's Lair readers. Just leave a comment here and make sure I've got some way of contacting you. You have till Monday! The winners will be announced via this very post.

[UPDATE]: And now for the winners; please do drop me a line!

  1. Me! Me! Pick me!

I would very much like to see the nice version. AGS one was sweet enough, but this is cool and runs on Mac (yep, I only have an old Macbook now).

  3. Cool! Loved the original version of this, it felt like a lost LucasArts adventure.

  6. I'll just go ahead and put my name in the running -- I've been hearing nothing but good things about it. Sounds like a pretty fun and inspired adventure.

  7. Δεν θα με πείραζε να κερδίσει. Αν είμαι εγώ, καλή δουλειά του Gnome.

  11. This adventure genre "revival" is getting better and better. Journey Down really resembles first Monkey Islands, maybe it is music? Or puzzles? Don't know, but sure will love to play it.

  14. Although the backlog is ever-growing, and "A World's Fair Mystery" has undeniable precedence at the moment... this is irresistible, count me in.
    Thanks!

  16. Not quite sure whether I've hit Monday or whether it's Tuesday now in your part of the world (it is here!), but regardless of whether or not I hit that magical deadline or not I had a fantastic day at Taronga Zoo, in Sydney, Australia doing a practical internship day with the course I am studying there (Zoo Keeping is awesome!). And regardless of anything else, I got to enjoy the awesomeness that is the Nocturnal House and all of the Sugar Gliders, Yellow Bellied Gliders and the adorably cute Feather Tailed Gliders (amongst others), today so my day was fantastic! It also rained on the way home and as zoo means up at 3am and close on 3 hours public transporting and walking in, well it was a perfect early morning no clouds in sight a beautiful moon (did you lot manage to catch the partial lunar eclipse last night? It was boss!, or the transit of Venus across the sun today (needed a telescope) which won't happen again til 2116 or so)) and cool crisp winter air, but it rained on the way home and no wet weather gear meant half an hour strolling through the rain with a manic grin upon my face, jumping in a bunch of puddles (I was soaked anyways, why wouldn't you???) and having a blast. I quite like the rain and am not bothered by it even if I was drenched through.

So my day has been positively awesome. What would make it even more awesome is winning a free Indie Game, as whilst I am inundated with the Bundle from here and elsewhere and am enchanted by The Sea Will Claim Everything (okay, so I can't get past the opening screen, am 2 units or points or what have you through but am stuck, it's SO right in front of me, I'll get it yet!) even more awesome Indie Games would be grand. If I missed the cut off date, well, I had an awesome day anyways and you all know about it too!

    Have a grand evening!

    2. P.P.S. Well then, seems I am a bit out of it, missed the whole update and the winners and everything, but that's okay. Root Canal in the morning means I'm not gonna feel half of my face for half of the day. Should be interesting. Thanks for putting up with the rambling Gnome!
