3D Deathchase or simply
Deathchase was released for the humble 16k
ZX Spectrum back in 1983 and remains a rather excellent and incredibly addictive game to this very day. Unfortunately and despite its impressively fast 3D graphics it never featured an Ewok.
And I thought I knew everything about ZX Spectrum... I actually went on to check the claim in your post about the game being made for 16K Speccy and you're right, I didn't even knew that such version existed. Shame on me.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course I played this game for many hours as a kid.
What a remarkable coincidence. Being quite uneducated in the ways of the Speccy, but always curious, I finally downloaded an emulator last night (ZXSpin) and was reading up on that exact game in particular. Which I had never even heard of before last night! Are you monitoring my internet activity?
ReplyDelete@ Barts: The sad thing, my friend, is that I'm still playing it for hours untold. Actually getting pretty good at it too. Oh, and I do believe the actual game code isn't bigger than 9k!
ReplyDelete@ MadPlanet: Well, to be brutally frank, I am; only slightly though and for your own (and the greater) good. Really!
Well, because of you I spent about half an hour yesterday playing the online version in my browser (on World of Spectrum)...
ReplyDeleteSorry about that Barts. Don't think you'd ever beat my high-score though :p
ReplyDeleteI've written a Java 3D Deathchase game you can play through your browser...

I hope you enjoy!
Excellent that. Thank you!
