We might never live to see the likes of Duke Nukem Forever, but by George we will have our ageing Duke Nukem 3D in glorious full 3D and in the high-resolutions its strippers were always meant to be enjoyed in! We will keep on mindlessly shooting stuff and playing one of the silliest -almost offensive- FPSs ever made, but this time around with the help of the latest free version of the Duke Nukem High-resolution pack. Download it here. Then keep waiting.

Been so, so long since I've played this one.... Was this the one that had the outrageous boss battle on the football field..?
ReplyDeleteI can't remember, but I played a game along time ago and defeated some huge boss on a ftball field, and I thought this was it...
Search deep inside you young Jedi and the answer will reveal itself...
ReplyDeleteDuke Nukem changed me, in a very profound way. Before it arrived, I played strategy games, games that actually taught me somehthing, like Civ. Duke Nukem turned me into a slobbering, FPS-obsessed idiot. I stayed that way for many, many years. I even mastered the level-editor for this game...
ReplyDeleteMust download...
I liked the multi-player on this game.
ReplyDeleteI played through the single player rounds a couple of times as well. I liked the shrink ray and freeze gun.
Also the "cash" code was pretty cool as well. "Shake it Baby!"
However, the real FPS treat was Blood! I think it was actually based on the same engine. Blood was higher up on my list and the main character had the same name as me.
high res strippers, could it get any better.....
ReplyDeleteyay! Duke Nukem 3D - I prefer hacking with a katana or throwing caltrops in Shadow Warrior though.
ReplyDeleteThanks gnome :)
Glad I helped awaken your demented pas dear David.
ReplyDeleteCaleb, think I 'm with you.. Blood was fantastic. Haven't played it for ages though. Also remeber a certain Blood 2 demo...
High-res cigars & strippers perhaps dear Elderly?
Welcome Munkey ...err... Roy!
Never played it, but from the feedback it sounds like one hell of a game...
ReplyDeletePlayed it last night after downloading the files in the office ... damn nice to see the Duke in action again :)
ReplyDeleteMore sleepless nights and half-closed eyes at the office for the coming weeks :(
Actually father, it's a silly rollercoaster of fun with some almost decent humor, which is what every FPS should be like. Oh, and it's got strippers and a gun to reduce your opponents' size too...
ReplyDeleteRoys! (nice new name) why not quite the cursed job? I mean, Duke will care for you...
hmm. I could consider that ... oh yeah, Roys is actually my real name :)
ReplyDeleteRoys, nice to meet you (again) then!
ReplyDelete(enters with crate of virtual cuban cigars... passes cigars around.....sits down, lights up)
ReplyDeleteright let the show begin!!
Show? With cigars? That sounds quite kinky... Nice.
ReplyDelete(takes a seat)
(waits...waits a bit longer...looks at Gnome..)
ReplyDeleteyou did order the strippers.. didn't you?
Though you did, really...
ReplyDeleteDear god, look at that screenshot. I mean to tell you, Alf has seen better day.
ReplyDeleteHehe, indeed John, indeed. A most insightful comment; oh and a fantastic curmudgeon blog!
ReplyDelete(fits an on-demand stripper ordering button to the inside of Gnomes Blog.......)
ReplyDeletethere that should do it.....
Hey, it works! Elderly, you're a genious!
ReplyDelete(smiles awkwardly...)
ReplyDeletenah.. twas nothing..... shucks!
